with 2nd Annual Dinner Dance/Silent Auction on Friday, March 5, 2010
Winter Percussion and Jazz Band Is In Full Swing!!!
The most busy time of the year has arrived. The Stamford High School Winter Percussion and Jazz Ensemble are working hard to begin their competitive seasons. The percussion have been completing their 2010 show "Pieces" and striving for the top spot in MAC and WGI. Completed is 2/3 of the show musically and 1/3 with drill. Rehearsals are 6-9 Tuesday and Thursdays and Saturdays every week. This week the Saturday rehearsal will be 9-6. There is much to complete but SHS has that drive to be the best.
The Jazz Band has been working on an arrangement of Sing Sing Sing. Also being rehearsed is an arrangement of Someone To Watch Over Me. Included in that performance will be Victoria Esposito on vocals.
Winter Concert- Thursday Night
The Stamford High School Winter Concert will be this coming Thursday evening. It begins at 7:00 in the SHS Auditorium. Please come support the numerous ensembles performing. The concert will include Concert Band, Jazz Band, Orchestra and numerous chorus pieces.
***There will also be no Winter Percussion rehearsal. Numerous students will be in the concert. Everyone is expected to be at the concert and support your teammates.
Christmas Tree Sale
The SHS Black Knights Marching Band will be selling Christmas Trees in the student parking lot of Stamford High School beginning at 9:00 am Friday, November 27th until they are completely sold just before Christmas. Hours of sale are 6 to 9 pm Monday through Friday and 9 am to 9 pm Saturdays and Sundays. Also for sale are wreaths and swags. Please come out and support this very worthy cause to benefit the band programs at Stamford High School.
