Black Knights Marching Band

In their final competition of the band season the Black Knights scored their biggest victory of the season - taking the MAC Class III Championships!  Stamford also took the caption awards for Outstanding Marching, Outstanding Music, Outstanding General Effect, and Outstanding Percussion.

The hard work of students combined with skilled instruction from the band staff paid off.  Fans of the Black Knights watched season-long as our show continued to improve.  The results speak for themselves. 

A day that started with a threat of very high winds ends in success for the Black Knights Marching Band. In their final regular season performance the Black Knights scored 1st place in Class III competition. They also took away the caption awards for Outstanding General Effect, Outstanding Marching, Outstanding Percussion, and Outstanding Music.

In the first ever combined Musical Arts Conference and Tournament of Bands competition the Stamford High Black Knights came out on top with a 1st place performance in class III as well as the award for best percussion.

Their energetic performance was the difference in a close class III matchup. With only two weeks to go in the season, the Black Knights will next face off against their competition at Norwalk where they will be matched up against most of the bands they will be seeing at finals as well as the Westhill Vikings marching band.

Congratulations to Stamford High. A fine performance resulted in 1st place for class III as well as caption awards for Music, Marching, and General Effect.

The Black Knights made big scoring gains in their second performance of the season - narrowing the scoring gap with the 1st place Bethel Wild Cats to .05 points to take 2nd place in Class III! With a 10 point gain over their first performance at Brien McMahon the Knights are well on their way.

The Black Knights Percussion was awarded the caption award for best percussion - way to go percussion! And the band was awarded with the caption award for best music and best marching! Your many fans could see the big improvements you've made in all parts of the show in one short week - way to go!

The Tell-Tale Heart show was the talk of Norwalk as the Stamford High Black Knights Marching Band came out to perform at their first show of the season - Brien McMahon!

We marched for score and to show our stuff as the only class III band at the show. Our scores were good. Parent support was great - way to support the band! It was great to see the whole production and how far we've come since band camp. Two weeks till Trumbull and our first major test of the season. We hope to see everyone there. And in three weeks time - our home show - KNIGHT MUSIC!!

Band Camp 2007 has concluded, and I am very satisfied with the success of our ensemble this week. We have learned three of four parts to our show, and have given the students excellent marching basics training. This successful band camp is due in large part to the following people:

I know all the parents really enjoyed seeing the show so far. We know there is a lot to do, but great job so far.
