The most busy time of the year has arrived. The Stamford High School Winter Percussion and Jazz Ensemble are working hard to begin their competitive seasons. The percussion have been completing their 2010 show "Pieces" and striving for the top spot in MAC and WGI. Completed is 2/3 of the show musically and 1/3 with drill. Rehearsals are 6-9 Tuesday and Thursdays and Saturdays every week. This week the Saturday rehearsal will be 9-6. There is much to complete but SHS has that drive to be the best.
The Jazz Band has been working on an arrangement of Sing Sing Sing. Also being rehearsed is an arrangement of Someone To Watch Over Me. Included in that performance will be Victoria Esposito on vocals. We will be performing at the Berklee Jazz Festival again on March 13th. Other performances will follow.
Congratulations go out to Harry Kliewe and Rainer Moy-Huwyler for auditioning and performing in the Western Regional Music Festival. They performed this past weekend in the Concert Band along side some of the finest musicians in Connecticut.
