Welcome to the homepage for our Black Knights Music Program! Here you will find a plethora of up to date information regarding all of our music programs, fundraising events, upcoming events and more! The Stamford High School Music Program is a comprehensive music institution that includes a marching, jazz and concert band as well as a nationally ranked percussion ensemble. Music enables all students to discover and develop their artistic potential through listening, performing, analyzing, moving and creating. We believe music incorporates understanding from all disciplines and leads to an improved self-concept, a broader cultural awareness and a development of life-long skills.

Brass Master Class

Professional musician Jared Dubin is teaching a brass master class in the band room tomorrow from 5:30-6:30pm.

All trumpet, trunbone and tuba players should attend.

Tree Lot Clean-Up

Tree Lot Clean-Up

We will be dismantling the tree stands, cleaning the trailer and packing everything away this Saturday 1/7 starting at 9am. We are looking for as many volunteers as possible to help with these tasks. The more people we have, the faster it will go. Thank you!

Winter Concert

Winter Concert

Our Winter Concert will be held on Wednesday 12/21 at 7pm. All band members should report to the band room at 6pm.

The dress code is as follows:

Boys: Suit or dress pants, button down shirt and a blazer. A tie and dress shoes are required.

Girls: Dress nice for the concert. No jeans or UGGS. Dresses and skirts are allowed, but the length must be below the knee.

Christmas Tree Lot Help

Starting next week, one of our band programs biggest fundraisers will kickoff...the Christmas tree sale!

We are in desperate need of volunteers for this Saturday 11/19 to help prepare the lot for tree delivery. We will be meeting in the tree lot which is located in the back of the student parking lot this Saturday at 10am. If you can help and have a cordless drill and a ladder, we need you!

Auditions will take place this Saturday 11/19 from 2-5p in the band room. If your child is interested in joining winter percussion they must attend the auditions. If you have any questions please contact George Beratis at gberatis@ci.stamford.ct.us

Many thanks to all volunteers who helped make Knight Music 2011 such a success: current and past band parents, families, friends, staff and community. Knight Music 2011 was the largest competition hosted by the SHS Band, requiring a tremendous group effort by all. We couldn't have done it without your hard work and dedication!

Competition Update

Competition Update

With the season winding down the SHS Marching band had a fine outing last Saturday at the USSBA competition. The SHS Marching Band placed third with a score of 79.300 and won the best percussion caption. Way to go!

Please join us this Saturday 10/22 for fun, food and music as Boyle Stadium plays host to "Knight Music" our  home competition show. Hope to see you there!

Friday 10/21: Pellicci's Night- Our last Pellicci's Night was a great success. We hope you join us for some delicious italian food and a fun evening out.

Pellicci's Night: Our first Pellicci's night was a huge success! Some of our very own faculty members and SHS Alumni played Jazz for a few hours at the restaurant and the $400 in tips they made were donated to our music program. The band included Josh Sette, Joe Sinaguglia, Rudini Pierre and Mr. George Beratis.

Parkway Diner Night: The SHS Band is becoming a pro at waiting and busing tables at the diner. The food was delicious, the wait staff was great and there were great times had all around. The students raised over $600!
